Explorer Scouts are young people aged between 14 and 18 years old. They make up the fourth section of the Scouting family after Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. A group of Explorer Scouts is called a Unit.

Explorer Scouting is activity based camping, hikeing, archery, shooting and climbing plus loads of other activities. There is also a range of ambitious badges and awards, through which Explorers can demonstrate their proficiencies and expand their interests.

In Gosport we have one Unit that meet once a week on Friday from 19:30 to 21:30 (term time only), normally at the District HQ in Clayhall Road.

Young Leaders meet once a month on Wednesdays 19:30 to 21:30, and the Expedition and Duke of Edinburgh's Award Unit also meet once a month on Wednesdays 19:30 to 21:30.

More Details on Gosport Explorer Unit can be found on their web site.
